Acrobatic Arts Class
The emphasis of this class will be on choreographing acrobatic arts, partner poses and group athletics to fun, kid-friendly songs! This class is perfect for those students who love to workout, stretch, gain strength and limberness or for those who have prior experience in gymnastics. We work on safety spotting techniques and dynamic movement as we evolve from single person acrobatics to teamwork based dance combos. These class participants will be expected to perform safely during the end of season showcase on stage and in front of others. No experience is required. However a serious attitude and certain level of body control is required to keep one’s self and other participants safe during practice and performance. Be prepared for multi-person ground based pyramids, cartwheels, handstands and ground exercises including lifts and holding another person’s weight. Each student will be expected to aid in safety spotting throughout the course and will be highly engaged in their team’s efforts.This type of learning can make for quite the show on showcase day! Skills must be complete and done with competency in order to be allowed on stage.
