Description

Film Acting Workshop
Do you feel confident acting on stage but aren’t sure how it translates to film? This intensive focuses specifically on acting for the camera. While good acting is good acting, actors need to know how to tweak their performances for film. The most affective way to see what the camera picks up is to work…you guessed it… on camera.
We will set up our classroom the same way you would set up a self-tape audition. Each student will have their individual performances taped and played back on a larger screen. Students will rotate thru the roles of auditioning actor, reader, and casting director. Learn the power of gaze, how to create an opening moment, and letting your eyes tell the story. If you’re ready for your close-up, sign up for this fun filled and fast paced workshop.

Counselor:

Jewel Magoon

I’m a professional actor with 20+ years experience in TV, film, and theater. My love for acting started on the stage. While living in Los Angeles my focus turned to the camera while appearing in films, commercials and TV shows like CSI:NY (CBS) and House, M.D. (FOX). I have taught acting for 17 years and directed 15+ youth productions, including eight years with CYT Chicago. I love the beach, ice cream, and cheering my daughter on at her volleyball matches; despite it not being good for my blood pressure.
