Adult Lyrical Worship

All adults participating in CYT programming, including Cultivate Performing Arts Academy, are required to submit to a background check and complete an on-line safety training.

At Cultivate, we believe everything we do is an act of worship, and that dance is a unique, physical expression of that worship- a way to offer our whole selves back to the Lord. Our 90-minute Lyrical Worship class is structured to nurture the whole artist. We begin each week with 30 minutes of intentional strength, stretch, and conditioning work—preparing our bodies to move with freedom and longevity. Our time then focuses on technique and sharpening the skills that allow us to express our hearts more freely through movement. We will conclude each week by translating technique into testimony. Through across-the-floor work and choreography set to worship music, we will use our movement to pray, to praise, and dwell in the presence of the Lord together.

Whether a seasoned dancer or beginner, you're invited to join a community of worshippers as we cultivate our craft and fix our eyes on the One who gave us a reason to dance. 

All classes must meet a minimum enrollment of 4 for the class to start.

Becca Bishop

Becca Bishop is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She has nearly 30 years of dance experience, with training in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, theater and contemporary dance. In her youth, she primarily trained, traveled and performed with Birmingham Dance Theater. She continued studying dance throughout college in Virginia. Becca was an active thespian in high school and college, performing in numerous plays and musicals. Her love of choreography and teaching began as a teen, and she had the honor of teaching dance, Pilates and Barre classes for 10+ years before taking a break in 2013 to focus on her growing family. It is her desire to teach the joy of dance with a loving heart, to inspire creativity, to instill confidence and to help students learn what God has called them to do with their gifts and talents on and off stage. Becca has three children and a loving, supportive husband of 14 years. In her downtime, she can be found running, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, reading a good book and sewing.
