Ballet Foundations
Ages: 11+
Enrollment: age based, open
Length: 1hr
Description: Cultivate poise and grace in our Ballet Foundations class, specially designed for students ages 11 and up with little to no formal ballet experience! At Cultivate Performing Arts Academy, we proudly introduce dancers to the renowned Vaganova method adapted to the needs of our students. In this foundational class, students will learn the core principles of classical ballet with a focus on proper alignment and muscle engagement while executing the fundamental par terre, barre and center exercises of Vaganova’s Year 1. Ballet classes within the Studio Program are designed for students who desire to be challenged in ballet but at a lower time commitment than our Conservatory. Ballet Foundations covers the skills of Beginning and Intermediate 1 at an accelerated pace and typically requires several years of study before progressing to Intermediate 2. Dancers will perform in our Christmas Showcase and Spring Production. The program concludes with a supportive and structured exam where students can celebrate their progress!
