Jazz Foundations

Description: Discover the exciting world of jazz dance in our Jazz Foundations class, specially designed for students ages 11 and up with little to no formal jazz experience! This class is perfect for Music Theater and Ballet students looking to expand their dance vocabulary and pairs well with our Tap Foundations class. Our experienced instructors will guide students through the essential building blocks of jazz technique, including: jazz terminology, isolations, classic jazz movements, and basic turns and jumps, as well as developing the necessary strength and flexibility for future jazz training. Jazz Foundations covers the skills of Beginning and Intermediate 1 at an accelerated pace and typically requires several years of study before progressing to Intermediate 2. Dancers will perform in our Christmas Showcase and Spring Production. The program concludes with a supportive and structured exam where students can celebrate their progress!
