Description

Beginning Improv
Ages 11-16
Do you love being onstage? Do you like making people laugh? Do you dread memorizing lines? Improv might be right for you! In this class we will work on establishing characters, relationships, objectives, and locations all within a short scene made up on the spot! Whether you have experience with improv or you are just trying it out, this class will be loads of fun! Through a collection of games we will learn how to work with fellow actors, play to an audience, and put on a completely unscripted showcase! Get ready to laugh until it hurts, and we’ll see you in class!

Teacher:

Reagan Smalley

Reagan is thrilled to be returning for her seventh year with CYT! Theatre has been a part of Reagan's story since her own days as a CYT student, and it is a joy and a privilege to now pour that same passion into the next generation of performers. Reagan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Biola University and a Master's degree from Denver Seminary. Her directing credits with CYT include 3 show in a week camps, Descendants and now Shrek the Musical. She brings both her love of the craft and her faith into every rehearsal room, believing deeply that our God is a creative God and that theatre is one of the most powerful ways we can bring honor and glory to His name. Reagan's prayer is that every student who walks through these doors would leave not only with a deeper love for the art, but with a deeper knowledge of who God created them to be.
