CYT Lite Show: Jungle Book Kids!
**not eligible to audition for Beauty and the Beast**
8-13 years

We are so excited to offer a CYT Lite show again this year as a performance opportunity for 8 to 12-year-olds! This class will be fast-paced and packed with learning as the students work toward performing the 30-minute show, Jungle Book Kids. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday nights during CYT class time and will be 2.5 hours long. In addition, there will be two Saturday rehearsals and a tech rehearsal during the day of the Saturday performances. The class will perform two 30-minute shows. This class will not perform in the class showcase at the end of the class session which is after their two performances.
Students will send a vocal audition video before we begin rehearsals. Callbacks and dance auditions will be held on the first day of class. There are no parent committee requirements, although we will ask for volunteers to help with concessions and tech for the performances or any other needs that come up. This production will use simple costumes similar to last year’s lite show Aristocats Kids, with items brought from home, as well as simple sets and props.
Our goal with this class is to give our amazing students a chance to shine on stage with more opportunities than the fall show, Beauty and the Beast, could offer them. To allow them to fully commit to their roles in Jungle Book Kids, students who choose this class will not be allowed to audition for Beauty and the Beast. We are looking forward to getting started on this CYT Lite show and hope you are excited to join us!
* There is a $100 production fee in addition to class tuition to cover the additional rehearsal hours, show licensing and tech needs

Amelia Kirk was born and raised in Colorado. She started performing in the Douglas County Children's Chorus, and ended up performing all over the world in choirs and bands. She has also performed in many musicals and operas, which instilled in her a love for theater. Amelia is currently a K-12 music/theater teacher at Home School Academy in District 20. She recently started a High School Musical Theater Program there and the students performed Cinderella. Before moving to Colorado Springs she taught choir at Northglenn High School and had a voice and piano lesson studio. Amelia loves seeing children learn and develop new skills and is excited to join CYT!

Becca Bishop is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She has nearly 30 years of dance experience, with training in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, theater and contemporary dance. In her youth, she primarily trained, traveled and performed with Birmingham Dance Theater. She continued studying dance throughout college in Virginia. Becca was an active thespian in high school and college, performing in numerous plays and musicals. Her love of choreography and teaching began as a teen, and she had the honor of teaching dance, Pilates and Barre classes for 10+ years before taking a break in 2013 to focus on her growing family. It is her desire to teach the joy of dance with a loving heart, to inspire creativity, to instill confidence and to help students learn what God has called them to do with their gifts and talents on and off stage. Becca has three children and a loving, supportive husband of 14 years. In her downtime, she can be found running, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, reading a good book and sewing.
