Tap Foundations

Description: Discover how your feet become a percussive instrument in our Tap Foundations class, specially designed for students ages 11 and up with little to no formal tap experience! This class is perfect for Music Theater and Ballet students looking to expand their dance vocabulary and pairs well with our Jazz Foundations class. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the essential building blocks of tap technique, including: tap vocabulary, rhythmic patterns, and proper technique to create clear sounds. Tap Foundations covers the skills of Beginning and Intermediate I at an accelerated pace and typically requires several years of study before progressing to Intermediate 2. Dancers will perform in our Christmas Showcase and Spring Production. The program concludes with a supportive and structured exam where students can celebrate their progress!
