CYT Lite Show: Magic Treehouse: Pirates Past Noon!

We are so excited to offer a CYT Lite show as a performance opportunity for 8 to 13-year-olds! This class will be fast-paced and packed with learning as the students work toward performing the 30-minute show, Magic Treehouse: Pirates Past Noon Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays during CYT class time from 4:30-7:00. This class has a different schedule than the other fall session classes in that it is 30 minutes longer each week, we do not take breaks during the tech weeks for the main stage shows and we also have two Saturday rehearsals and a Monday night tech rehearsal, so please look closely at the dates below.  The class will perform two public performances on March 3rd.
Students will submit a vocal audition video before we begin rehearsals. Callbacks and dance auditions will be held on the first day of class. There are no parent committee requirements, although we will ask for volunteers to help with costumes, props, tech for the performances or any other needs that come up. This production will use simple costumes, with items brought from home, as well as simple sets and props. 
Our goal with this class is to give our amazing students a chance to shine on stage in a low pressure environment with a much smaller commitment than a main stage show. Students who choose to participate in this Lite show are not eligible to audition for the winter main stage shows. We are looking forward to getting started on A Year with Frog and Toad and hope you are excited to join us!
* There is a $100 production fee in addition to regular class tuition to cover the additional rehearsal hours, show licensing and tech needs. The total cost of the class is $340

Rehearsal Dates:
Tuesdays 4:30-6:30 or 7:00 (small groups of cast members or later in the rehearsal process, the full cast will be asked to stay for the last half hour each week, a schedule for that will be sent out after the second week of class)

Show Synopsis: 
Magic Tree House: Pirates Past Noon KIDS is an adaptation of the fourth of Mary Pope Osborne's award-winning fantasy adventure books from the Magic Tree House book series, which has sold more than 100 million copies and is available in more than a hundred countries around the world.  This time around, Jack and Annie’s tree house takes them to an exotic island with pirates, where the two discover the power of friendship and the simple pleasures in everyday life.
The two siblings return to visit the magic tree house on a dreary, rainy day. They find a book where the sun is shining and the waves are crashing, so they wish to travel to this tropical place. They realize that they are in the eighteenth-century Caribbean, the time of pirates! The siblings meet Captain Bones, a mean old pirate who captures the two and forces them to help him find buried treasure. It's up to Jack and Annie to find their way back to the tree house and make their way home.
