Deepen your classical ballet journey in our Intermediate Ballet classes, designed for dancers with at least two to four years prior ballet experience. At Cultivate Performing Arts Academy, we follow the Vaganova method thoughtfully adapted for our dancers' needs. Intermediate Ballet builds on the placement and muscle engagement from Ballet Foundations. This class introduces a full barre vocabulary, turns on two feet, jumps with two movement patterns as well as more complex coordination that develops grace and poise.  Intermediate 1 classes include dancers who are 9-12 yrs old on August 1st, 2026 and may turn 13 through the year.

Dancers wear a uniform leotard, pink tights*, matching canvas ballet slippers and a uniform skirt. (*or skin toned as appropriate with matching tights).

Ballet classes within our Studio Program are designed for students who desire high-caliber ballet training with a lower time commitment than our Conservatory.

Intermediate Ballet features a two-year rotating curriculum, ensuring comprehensive skill development and consistent challenge before moving to the Advanced level. Dancers will perform in our Christmas Showcase (wearing uniforms) and Spring Production (wearing purchased costumes). The program culminates with a required supportive and structured exam where students can celebrate their progress and work towards advancement!

Ballet Intermediate dancers are strongly encouraged to enroll in an additional dance style to have 2hrs of dance training per week. Dancers interested in pursuing Musical Theatre more deeply should register for a minimum of 3 dance styles.
