Description

Elevate your classical artistry to its peak in our Intermediate 2 / Advanced Ballet class! Designed for accomplished dancers aged 12 and up who can execute a full ballet barre and are able to learn complex sequences while maintaining their technique.  Building upon the strong foundation of the Vaganova method, this class challenges dancers to develop their artistic qualities within more complex adagio, waltz and petite allegro combinations. This rigorous class is the pinnacle of our Studio Program's classical training and designed to support students preparing for collegiate and professional opportunities in Music Theater, Pedagogy, and other dance styles as well as students who desire to be challenged in their classical ballet technique.

Advanced ballet dancers who meet certain training and strength requirements are eligible to work towards earning pointe shoes using private/small group lessons arranged with teachers outside of our typical classes. Dancers who have previously danced en pointe at another studio are encouraged to email amy@cytcoloradosprings.org to discuss options.

Dancers wear a uniform leotard, pink tights*, matching canvas ballet slippers and a uniform skirt. (*or skin toned as appropriate with matching tights).

Int2/Adv Ballet dancers perform at our Christmas Showcase (wearing uniforms) and Spring Production (wearing purchased costumes) and culminates with a required supportive and structured exam to help dancers set goals and measure progress.

In order to build the strength and technique necessary for this level all Int2 and Advanced ballet dancers are strongly encouraged to attend ballet a minimum of twice a week. Classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesday afternoons, and Wednesdays.
