Description

Conservatory 6-8 is the pinnacle of our training and is dedicated to serving dancers who desire to perform classical ballet in professional and collegiate settings. Students attend five days a week which includes ballet classes with pointe, ballet class fully en pointe, variations, contemporary, strength and stretch, a warm up ballet class, and a two hour repertoire class. Conservatory 6-8 students will expand their technique to prepare for the demands of famous classical and contemporary works. Conservatory 6-8 is a multi-year level that continues training until a student graduates or attends a professional ballet school or trainee program.

They perform in our Christmas Showcase and Spring Production as well as several other opportunities. Additionally, Conservatory 6-8 students have the option to participate in the Denver Ballet Guild, Esther Geoffrey and Ballet Championships of America. Other opportunities may be considered on a student by student basis.

The school year culminates with a required, supportive and structured exam to help dancers set goals and prepare for the audition environment. Conservatory dancers are expected to maintain their training hours for a minimum of 6 weeks through the summer.

Conservatory classes are registered for the entire weekly requirements at one time. Conservatory 6-8's have three required ballet classes and may choose their fourth as a daytime option or a level down.

Laci Landry

Laci Landry, originally from Michigan, started dancing at age 6. She began focusing on her classical and modern training when she transferred to the Flint School of Performing Arts in 2000. Under the direction of Karen Mills Jennings, she performed lead roles in notable contemporary and classical ballets, including The Firebird, The Nutcracker, and works by Darrell Grand Moultrie. She further honed her skills and gained national and international touring experience with the Flint Youth Ballet, the school's pre-professional company. After high school, Laci pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in ballet and modern performance at SUNY Purchase's dance conservatory in New York. Her collegiate performances included George Balanchine's Four Temperaments, and she also engaged in freelance work with Lane Gifford & Co. In 2008, Ms. Landry relocated to Colorado Springs, joining Ballet Emmanuel, a professional Christian ballet company, where she performed, toured, and taught for five years. Laci developed her teaching proficiency under the guidance and leadership of Patricia Hoffman from 2009 to 2024. In 2024, Laci stepped away from teaching to pursue a new calling as the Kids Director at Trace Church. She is thrilled to be back in the studio working with Cultivate to develop students.
