Description

Musical Theater Voice Lab (Ages 12–18)

Build a healthy, versatile musical theater voice while developing the musicianship skills every performer needs.
This engaging class is designed for singers who want to strengthen their vocal technique, improve music-reading skills, and gain confidence as performers. Students will learn how to access and strengthen their voice throughout their range, navigate register changes with ease, and sing with a full, resonant sound without strain. Emphasis is placed on healthy vocal production, vocal longevity, and developing a balanced instrument that can meet the demands of a variety of musical theater styles.
Through sight-singing, rhythm reading, ear-training exercises, and ensemble work, students will also build the musical skills needed to learn music quickly and perform independently.
Students will explore and perform contrasting musical theater repertoire, learning how different styles require different vocal colors, techniques, and storytelling approaches.
