Description

The Power of the Swing (11-14)

In this Broadway focused class, students will learn the importance of "swing" roles in musicals. Swings are ensemble characters who also learn various lead and supporting roles in the show. When someone calls out last minute, swings step up to the plate! This class will teach students how to learn more than one role in a show. They'll be able to take part in classroom performances and exercises that simulate last minute role changes, challenging their skills and giving them the tools they need to pursue musical theater in the future!

Alexis Sherrill

My name is Alexis and I'm so excited to join the CYT family! As an alumni of CYT Tucson in Arizona, I remember the life changing impact it had on me, and I'm so excited to help play a part in that experience for students! After high school, I moved to Los Angeles and started pursuing an acting career, got to work on a few different TV and film sets, as well as taking classes. In 2019, I relocated to Colorado. I had the opportunity to perform with the Iron Springs Chateau and Peak Performing Arts. I'm also currently signed with Wilhelmina Denver. Outside of acting, I love video creating, traveling, art, cooking, serving at my church and spending time with friends and family! I'm so thrilled to rejoin the CYT family!
