Description

Speak your story- The monologue lab
Step into the spotlight and discover the gift of your God-given voice! In this class, students will explore the art of monologues while building confidence, creativity, and character.
Through games, storytelling, and performance, students will learn how to communicate with clarity and purpose—using their voices, expressions, and movement to bring stories to life. Each week, participants will prepare and share short monologues inspired by personal experiences, imaginative storytelling, children’s literature, and Scripture.
This class encourages students to grow not only as performers, but also as confident communicators who understand the impact of their words. With a supportive, faith-centered environment, students will be challenged to step outside their comfort zones, develop empathy through different perspectives, and use their talents to reflect truth, courage, and integrity.
By the end of the session, students will develop a repertoire of prepared monologues and the confidence to share them with clarity, expression, and purpose.
No monologue experience is required; just a willingness to learn, encourage one another, and shine the light you’ve been given!

Jennifer Scheck

Jenn Scheck is a CYT mom with a deep love for the theater arts and a heart for helping students discover and use their God-given voice. Her passion for performance began early, including participation in the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale and the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony. She later competed in forensics, participated in high school theater, and performed with a musical theater variety group. Jenn began college as a theater major before graduating with a double major in Communication and Psychology. As an adult, Jenn has stayed connected to the performing arts by judging speech, debate, and forensics competitions. In her professional career in Human Resources, she regularly presents and teaches in front of both large and small groups, drawing on the skills she developed through performance to communicate with clarity, confidence, and engaging storytelling. Jenn is passionate about encouraging students to grow not only as performers, but also as confident communicators who can share stories with authenticity, courage, and integrity. She is excited to create a positive, Christ-centered environment where students can build their skills, support one another, and shine the light they’ve been given.
