Director: Ray Brown
Music Director: Amy Rockey

Frozen auditions are open to the CYT community- CYT/Cultivate students & families, alumni, Standing O Society Members, teachers & artistic team members are encouraged to audition. Ages 8 and up may audition, but there are limited roles for younger performers.
Audition sign ups are through your CYT family account. Auditions will be closed, meaning family and friends cannot watch. Auditions will be in groups of 10 and will include a 60 second vocal audition. Dance auditions will be by video submission uploaded to your audition form. Audition form links and more information will be sent out to those who are signed up to audition by the end of April. You do not have to be signed up for a class or camp to audition.
Rehearsal dates are listed below. Not all cast members will be called to all rehearsals or to full rehearsal times. There is a possibility that some of the listed rehearsals may be cancelled when the cast conflicts are looked at after casting. We understand that there will be conflicts during a summer production period, but we need to know what those are at auditions. Conflicts may not be added after casting.
Students who are not graduating this spring will have a $225 production fee if cast. Sibling discount will be given- $25 off for the second, third, ect. sibling under 18. Adults, including this year's graduates, will have a $50 production fee if cast. We anticipate a large number of auditioners and most likely will not be able to cast everyone who auditions, but we are looking forward to seeing many of our CYT families on stage!

Ray Brown, Director
A Florida native, Ray moved to Golden, CO in 1981 while in high school. After graduating from Colorado Christian University with a BA in Theater and Directing, Ray studied at the National Theater Conservatory & Denver Center Theater Company. In 1990, Ray stepped away from pursuing a professional acting career to get married and raise a family with his wife of Trudi (married 34+ years). Ray and Trudi relocated to Colorado Springs in 1999, and Ray continued to act and direct as a hobby. Over the years, he has appeared in local and regional television commercials, a few films, and in various semi-professional, collegiate, and community theater venues along the Colorado Front Range and in Alaska. Currently, assisted by Trudi, Ray directs community productions in the Colorado Springs area and provides 1-on-1 tutorials for performers who want to refine their craft. As a second generation student of Edith Skinner (author of Speak with Distinction), he brings a focus on speech and diction to the stage.

Becca Shoemaker, Choreographer
Born and raised in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, Becca Shoemaker has been immersed in dance and musical theatre since the age of two. Throughout her formative years, she trained at various dance studios in the valley, honing her skills in competitive poms, competitive dance, and musical theatre. Her passion for movement and performance flourished throughout middle and high school, paving the way for her collegiate dance journey. In the fall of 2015, Becca began her studies at the University of Wyoming (UW), where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. During her time at UW, she had the privilege of participating in Pablo Francisco Ruvalcaba’s reconstruction of excerpts from José Limón’s The Winged in the spring of 2016. This powerful work was later selected for performance at the National American Collegiate Dance Association Festival at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. In 2017, Becca broadened her artistic horizons by studying abroad in London, England, where she refined her technique at Pineapple Dance Studios, The Place, and Danceworks Studio. During this time, she had the opportunity to train under esteemed artists such as David Blake, Stephen Pelton, and Troy Powell of Ailey II. Following her semester abroad, she performed professionally at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue, sharing the stage with her talented mother. Becca’s final years at UW were filled with remarkable performance opportunities, as well as the chance to work with distinguished guest artists, including Charmaine Hunter, Keith and Kelly Saunders, Darrell Grand Moultrie, and Tai Jimenez. She graduated in December of 2018, ready to embark on her professional journey as a dancer and educator. Since earning her degree, Becca has dedicated herself to dance instruction, teaching at numerous studios in Seattle, WA, and the Denver Metro Area. In addition to her dance expertise, she holds certifications in Personal Training and Nutrition Coaching, allowing her to guide dancers toward holistic strength and wellness. Becca’s choreographic works have been recognized at the regional and national level, earning numerous Judges’ Choice Awards, “Most Entertaining” titles, Best Costume accolades, and Top Overall Placements. Her dynamic and theatrical approach to movement consistently captivates both audiences and adjudicators, reflecting her commitment to artistry and excellence. She remains dedicated to fostering a love of dance in her students while continuing to grow as an artist, educator, and mentor in the dance community.
